About Fortess

A bit of history

In 2002 Fortess started the business of custom software development. Those days the strongest need for European and American IT companies was in decreasing development costs as well as delegating responsibility for staff related issues. Located deep in Siberia, with comparatively low offshore costs, Fortess was a classical offshore company, making the primary focus on keeping deadlines, scope and required quality.

Nowadays IT world is changing and its demands are also different. For the majority of companies low cost is not the only, and sometimes even not a main factor at all, when speaking about subcontractors. Abilities to mitigate risks, do research work, suggest various technical solutions and travel easily to customers' facilities are becoming more and more important in modern IT world. This is what we call nearshore, emphasizing much closer collaboration between companies. Fortess successfully provides nearshore services since 2006.

While operating on the custom software development market, we often faced the situation when it was impossible for a company to transfer the project offshore, for many reasons: complicated equipment, inability to split-up the project on pieces, and so on. However, there is still a need in temporary engineering staff for such companies. To meet interests of such category of customers we have launched a new service - IT consulting&staffing, making our staff available for work together with a customer's employees for the negotiated period.
