Outsourcing 2.1
A new term "Outsourcing 2.0" has appeared recently in IT world, making association with Web 2.0 with its platform based approach, collective intelligence propaganda, syndicated models, and democracy that encourage users to add value to the applications they use. Outsourcing 2.0 indicates a new trend for corporate IT department and software vendors, moving from cutting costs on software through transferring development in countries with low labor costs, to global collaborative work, collective wisdom, and greater access to information. Of course, cost is still a factor, but not a major one. Ability for a remote outsourcer to work efficiently with clear and easy communications, be experts in a required technical domain, take initiative on a higher level, be flexible when scope is changed, and make a feeling of working as a one team gives more value than saving costs for many companies.
Outsourcing 2.0 is beneficial for those who are oriented on long-term partnerships and joint approach instead of a typical client-vendor relationship; for those who prefer playing not in blame-game, but a team winning game over arising challenges.
We ambitiously went further by naming our way of work "Outsourcing 2.1". We consider that our successful experience in new approach, continuous process of quality improvement, lessons learned and every new partnership added a little bit of wisdom at least for minor version up. We are looking forward to increase this number and proud when more partners say we meet their expectations and make valuable contribution to another software product.
